Win tickets for the Rizla Riverboat Shuffle on Friday 8 October on the Thames, London with Radio Magnetic. The party features guest DJ appearances from Optimo (Espacio), Melting Pot, LowLife and Greg Wilson.
After the success of this year and last’s Riverboat Shuffle parties on The Clyde, with Andrew and Simon from Melting Pot and Twitch and Wilkes from Optimo (Espacio) they’ve decided it was about time the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world ventured south to the big smoke for a boat party on the Thames. Joing the MP and Optimo gents for the voyage will be Bill Brewster and cohorts of DJHistory.com and Low Life notoriety and UK master of the disco funk edit, Mr Greg Wilson. Check out our live recording of Greg’s DJ set at Melting Pot on NYE 2009/2010.
The above video comes courtesy of our good friends over at EQTV. It shows August’s Rizla Riverboat Shuffle party up north.
The evenings fun doesn’t stop at Tower Bridge pier either, oh no. The team organising this party have also secured the services of the C.A.M.P. (70-74 City Road, London, EC1Y 2BJ) for an after-party that goes on until 4am (price of ticket includes both parties). No-one has ever thrown a party on this boat in London before, so make sure you’re one of the first sail with her on the Thames. Land ahoy people! Too good to miss.
Keep an eye on Radio Magnetic’s Homeclubbing series this week as well for the first of our live DJ sessions recorded at the Sub Club after the Glasgow Riverboat Shuffle. Simon Cordiner, JD Wilkes and Andrew Pirie all did the dancefloor proud after their raverley on the Waverley.
The Waverley was originally built, back in 1947, to sail solely between Craigendorran and Arrochar in West Scotland. It is pretty amazing to think that now, over 50 years later, she sails right round Britain offering regular trips on the Thames, South Coast of England and the Bristol Channel with other calls at various ports and piers throughout Britain. Arguably the most famous boat in the UK, we’re offering you the chance to get on it and rock the boat with the aforementioned stalwarts of the UK clubbing scene. First though, some info on the event and how to buy tickets:
Friday 8 October, 19.30 at Tower Bridge Pier. Get yourself a ticket and get along there.
