Wilco and Fleet Foxes are giving away a free copy of a cover of Bob Dylan track ‘I Shall Be Released’ to those who promise to vote in the upcoming US election.
In order to access the MP3 recording, fans must tick a box stating “I pledge to VOTE in the 2008 Election”, enter their name and email address, and the song will be sent to them. Which presumably means UK fans will just have to cheat in order to get the track. Which is quite apt for a promotion linked to the US elections. The track was recorded at a show in Bend, Oregon on 23 Aug.
