Lilly livered rock giants Metallica have released their newest album ‘Death Magnetic’ two days early, sparking rumours the metal heads are scared of feisty Scot’s Glasvegas beating them in the album charts.
Band of the moment, Glasvegas, are hotly tipped enter the UK album charts at number one this week, with over 100,000 copies of the record already sold.
But several nationwide record shops claimed they were selling physical copies of ‘Death Magnetic’ early, sparking rumours amongst music industry insiders that the metal giants will do anything they can to reach the top spot.
“Metallica have lost nearly half a week in sales on Glasvegas so it’s going to be close on Sunday when the chart is announced,” according to one music gossip.
“This is a big comeback for Metallica and their label, they really want to top the charts so it wouldn’t surprise me if they decided to put their album out a few days early in the UK when they saw how well Glasvegas were doing.”
It is no big surprise that Metallica were unavailable to comment on their apparently early release in the UK.

Interesting.. I cannot see Metallica’s Album doing better than Glasvegas… maybe 10 years ago… Metallica are excellent I caught them in Dublin @ Download 2006.. they are old now.. past it I think and I’m a huge fan of thier music. I reckon they would need to release a belter of an album to top Glasvegas/
Glasvegas – the best thing to come out of Scotland since The Jesus And The Mary Chain… IMO!!
