We’re pleased to be one of the partners for Social Media Week Glasgow. We’ll tell you a lot more about the festival, part of an international circuit of events to help people get more out of social media, over the coming weeks.
But, for now, check out this video we produced with illustrations by Lauren Currie from We Are Snook (the fastest draw in the west…) and voiceover by author Alan Bissett. Camera and editing was by our own Andy Brown with original music produced by our resident audio editor Bobby Perman (aka S-Type of LuckyMe, Puturelabs and Surface Pressure fame).
Check out what’s happening with Social Media Week Glasgow and get involved. You can hit us up with any questions too, on this post, via the contact details on the Inner Ear website or any of the usual places.
And, here’s what two of the other partners for the festival had to say about it.
Tim Wright, Director, Twintangibles:
“The New York based organisers of Social Media Week have just announced all of the successful world cities and Glasgow’s selection goes to show the success of various initiatives to establish and grow our creative digital industries in Scotland. It will be a terrific opportunity for sharing new insights and holding a public debate on how social media and technology will continue to affect us all.”
Arvind Salwan, Director, New Media Corp:
“Our year long bid to secure Glasgow as UK Social Media Week city has paid off, and it is a coup for the city to have been selected to host this major international event. We are establishing a steering group and 30-50 events will take place 19-23 September 2011 with the involvement of a range of partners. We will see the best of Scotland’s creative digital community come together to show the rest of the world that our innovation is alive and well.”
