Kingdom is one of the best up and coming bass music producers in America at the moment with multiple releases under his belt including releases on the much lauded Night Slugs imprint.

His most recent EP Dreama showcases some of his darkest work to date and this darkness shines through in the two hour mix, taking you through some of the  darkest elements of techno, grime, UK funky and house intricately spliced with elements of R & B, hip hop, ghetto tech and footwork in a truly unique fashion.

Melting Pot is currently celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2011 – doing so with style having Frankie Knuckles, Joaquin “Joe” Claussell, Francois K, Danny Krivit Joey Negro and Andrew Weatherall playing during the year. MP are also at the forefront of pushing the club soundsystem to new levels of clarity to be heard anywhere – so expect to be dazzled at New Year. Residents Andrew and Simon brought the MP sound to Croatia in the summer for Electric Elephant

Highlife is the brainchild of Slabs of the Tabernacle‘s Brian D’Souza and Huntleys & Palmers Andrew Thomson; created as an outlet to play music from outwith the normal spheres of influence of western house and techno. Highlife has embraced new music coming from the likes of Mexico’s Rebolledo and Chile’s Alejandro Paz, who will also be playing on the night, along with the expansive output of African artists. Residencies have followed at La Cheetah and The Sub Club. There will also be a special New Year live performance from Brian’s Auntie Flo project with Esa Williams whose debut releases in 2011 have been in the boxes of Giles Peterson, Andrew Weatherall, Joy Orbison, Caribou and many others.

Divine! is a Glasgow institution – the longest running club in the city (21 years and counting), with a new home at The Admiral. Resident Andrew Divine specialises in northern soul, heavyweight funk, Tamla Motown, sixties freakbeat, dynamite ska, easy listening and psychedelic soundtracks – a unique blend of established classics and new discoveries. Joining Andrew will be Hushpuppy a co-resident at Divine! for many years, resident at the long running Art School night Record Playerz and also Death Disco at The Arches.

The latest edition of the Wrong Island podcast comes from Teamy, recently decamped to London, yet still popping up to Glasgow monthly to do the residency at Nice & Sleazy. Catch him there with DJ partner, Dirty Larry, on Saturday 10 December.

Next up in this series, Discopolis. An electronic three piece band from Edinburgh, who combine to create a mix of electro, indie and house music. Every member plays a synthesizer as well as offering other elements to the band’s highly original and alternative sound with Fergus Cook on vocals and guitar, Laurie Corlett Donald on guitar and live sampling, and Dave Lloyd engineering and producing drum effects throughout. The next showcase from the T Break Stage at T in the Park 2011 comes from independent 3 piece rock band hailing from Paisley, Carnivores. They have a unique sound influenced by the rockier side of post punk; and consist of main vocalist and guitarist Kenny, bassist David and drummer Grant. The band have been gaining notoriety since their formation in 2008 through their raw and energetic live performances and this year’s performance at the T Break Stage was no different. The next in this series from the 2011 T Break Stage acts, features Fatherson. A three piece band currently based in Glasgow but originally formed in the small Scottish town of Kilmarnock. The outfit’s brand of melodic indie-pop-rock has gained them a solid name and great reputation in the Glasgow scene with the eponymous single being released on King Tut’s Recordings record label earlier this year. Like a good night out, this set starts in a wistful yet buoyant mood and builds slowly but surely. You’ll hear new, and recent, electronica, electro and house cuts with some other treats picked up along the way. The Emile Sande track remixed by Ryeland is also available for free download.

Next up in our T Break Stage at T in the Park series comes this Glasgow duo consisting of well established and innovative hip hop and electronic producer Scattabrainz and the intricate and melodic rap vocalist Marrik Layden Deft. The pair are part of Glasgow rap collective The Being and have hit the T Break Stage this year with a full live band playing interpretations from their EP, Lawful Rebellion with an original punk twist.
