Listen online, download and stream this DJ mix recorded live at Kingdom’s debut performance in Glasgow on 13 January.

Kingdom is one of the best up and coming bass music producers in America at the moment with multiple releases under his belt including releases on the much lauded Night Slugs imprint.

His most recent EP Dreama showcases some of his darkest work to date and this darkness shines through in the two hour mix, taking you through some of the darkest elements of techno, grime, UK funky and house intricately spliced with elements of R & B, hip hop, ghetto tech and footwork in a truly unique fashion.

Check out an interview we did with Kingdom on the night here .

A wander through the darker corridors of the catacombs of Radio Magnetic reveals some crunchy, spikey, tough but beautiful tracks sequenced and selected by Dougal Perman for one of Radio Magnetic’s regular evenings at the IVY bar near our studio in Finnieston, Glasgow.

Like a good night out, this set starts in a wistful yet buoyant mood and builds slowly but surely. You’ll hear new, and recent, electronica, electro and house cuts with some other treats picked up along the way. The Emile Sande track remixed by Ryeland is also available for free download.

Please note: the picture shown isn’t actually Dougal, nor was it taken in the IVY. It’s a stringray lounging in the aquarium at Berlin Zoo, which Dougal snapped while on holiday there recently.

For the second of our bi-monthly Radio Magnetic Homeclubbing parties at The Admiral, Glasgow we are delighted and excited to announce our friends at Wrong Island will be taking the headline slot as part of a whole weekend of Wrong.

Friday 12 and Saturday 13 November 2010. Get it in your diary pronto. The Homeclubbing shindig on Friday is followed by the dirty DJ duo’s monthly residency in Nice N Sleazy‘s basement on Saturday night. Both nights are a mere £3 for entry and we can guarantee the dancing’s free. 11pm – 3am. We suggest you get yourselves to both and make a Wrong Weekend of it. We are.

Teamy and Dirty Larry have been a regular fixture on Radio Magnetic for some time now and we all thought it was about time we joined forces to organise a party. And thought, may as well make it last all weekend wrong while we’re at it. Check out their podcast at radiomagnetic.com/wrong – where we host the best hour or so of live recording at their Sleazy’s monthly underground rave. Have a listen to some of those in preparation and expect averythoing from the finest and most forward thinking dubstep and hip hop to quality techno, acid, house and disco via soul, synth-pop and dub.

See you on the dancefloors.

Exclusive selection of back-to-back records from Million Dollar Disco proprieter, general good guy and vinyl obsessive, Al Kent. A beginner's guide to disco you might say...

According to the ever reliable and quality electronic music blog, Testpressing.com,

Al Kent (Ewan Kelly to his mother), for those that don’t know, is a long-time soul and disco DJ from Paisley, Scotland whose introduction to these sounds came through his discovery of Motown’s ’20 Mod Classics’ (a killer album from start to finish). Al Kent has released albums on BBE as Million Dollar Orchestra and more importantly started his own Million Dollar Disco label (check their site – there’s tons of stuff from a Walter Gibbons discography to articles on Italo as well as a gallery of disco sleeves through time and other related disco business).

According to RM station manager, Andy: Its simply, one of the most definitive, entertaining and well researched websites I’ve ever clapped my little eyes upon on the disco front. Million Dollar Disco is that good. Excellent stuff.

Since the release of his Million Dollar Orchestra album, Al Kent has recorded and remixed for DJ History, Kat Record, BBE and Million Dollar Disco. And here he serves up an exclusive little collection of amazing and, some overlooked, disco classics for the Radio Magnetic faithful. A beginners guide you might say and from a thoroughly top chap… Keep an ear to the ground for more news from Al and MDD in the near future too.

Crank the volume right up though in the meantime, right now.
