Stuart quipped that his record collection was worth more than his house when he was in the studio…he wasn’t joking.

Here he plays out his favourite rare 1960s soul 45s from Detroit. Motown and some of the smaller independent labels of the motor city are the order of the day. Records which went on to have a new lease of life with the northern soul boom of Northern England in the 1970s.

Stuart’s been an avid going on obssessive collector of these soul 7″s for some time now and here he shares some of his talcum powder flavoured favourites.

Alex Smoke and Jim Hutchison return to Radio Magnetic with yet another Hum n Haw show.

It’s been a while since the last one (5 months) but we know the boys have been busy getting the new Hum n Haw record label set up so they get let off this time. In this show Alex and Jim take us on a musical journey outside the realms of the label’s releases, letting us hear some of the tunes currently inspiring the forward thinking duo. Tunes from the likes of Pangaea, Rustie, Modeslektor, and new Hum n Haw signing Name + Relucto show the breadth of the label’s musical aspirations.

We’re already up to EP number 4 which is good going by anyones standards and features more of a techno style from Name+Relucto with “Spawn Of Spoon”. Watch out for the Alex Cortex mix! It’s an absolute blinder. Get your mits on it at all good record stores including Boomkat and Beatport.

Those of your that know the Radio Magnetic team will know of Tiff and those of you from Scotland will have seen the Peaches name in association with various south American / Latin / African DJ sets and club nights.

Well to be honest Tiff it’s been far to long since your sultry tones Graced the Radio Magnetic airwaves and for all those thinking “Who the hell is tiff and is his name really Peaches?”, think no more. Sit back, switch off and slurp on that imaginary caipirinha as the man like Peaches plays as well as sings a heady collection of baile funk, carioca, samba and bossa.

Scot Problems is one of the Radio Magnetic old team, vanguard, coalition, maybe even elite. One things certain, he knows how to pick 'em but will your kids love it?

Our long standing listeners will undoubtedly remember the Ground Loops show presented by the unforgettable Scott Problems.

Well luckily for you and especially our newer listeners we’ve brought Scot back from the radio dead and stuck him in front of the mic in our studio.

After the being spurred on by the success of Crae Caldwell’s birthday show in early September, Scot called us up and demanded he get back in the hot seat for another stab at the Ground Loops massive. How could we refuse?

The second date... will you get a kiss, maybe a snog, maybe more? Nobody knows but at least with our Tony you know you're destined for some full on aural action.

If you apply the rules of dating to working out how many episodes a radio show has to put out before it is called a ’series’ then Radio Magnetic’s head of music, Tony Black has still a way to go before The Beat Delivery and him move in together.

A second date means ‘I like you, but I’m not sure how much’ therefore it works out that this second show is the one which dangles the juicy carrot of possibility whilst , in the background, looms the spiky stick of rejection.

Luckily Tony’s a trooper so future shows are bound to happen – although when, I’m sure that not even he can tell you that.

So make sure to get the most out of this one; tarted up with the likes of James Pants, the Avalanches and finishing with a absolutely wicked remix of Stardust’s, ‘The Music Sounds Better With You,’ it’s better than a full frontal snog any day!
