Radio Magnetic and Tennent’s Lager are partnering up for T Break 2012. Find out all the news and then listen online and download live recordings, MP3 downloads, interviews and features from the forthcoming T Break Stage bands and artists.

Tennent’s Lager have announced the T Break 2012 lineup. The Radio Magnetic team are pleased to see a strong group of 16 bands who will all perform on the T Break Stage at T in the Park on 6, 7 and 8 July 2012.

Radio Magnetic will be there to record and film each of the live sets, which you can listen to and watch after the festival. We’ve pulled together a list of Soundcloud tracks from each of the acts appearing on the T Break Stage this year. Check them out.

Yesterday we posted about the All Caps Record Label Showcase at La Cheetah Club on Saturday. Due to unforeseen circumstances Helix will no longer be playing at the showcase.

Fear not though as All Caps have roped in Bristol stalwart Peverelist to fill the void. If you’re unfamiliar with the Punch Drunk label head check out his mix for Sonic Router and educate yourself.

This Saturday, All Caps Records are taking over the basement at La Cheetah Club in Glasgow to showcase the fine selection of producer and DJ talent the label has to offer.

Headlining the night is hotly tipped Atlanta based beatmaker Helix. The 20 year old producer has been making a lot of noise in the bass music scene over the last couple of months, including his release Drum Track, a white label for Night Slugs featuring the vocal talents of grime heavyweight Flirta D on the flip. His follow up release, the Stacks Riddim EP is due to drop at some point this month on the All Caps label. 
Playing alongside Helix is Alex Coulton, the man responsible for All Caps‘ debut release, the Representations EP. The Manchester based producer has seen his fan base grow considerably this year, with an appearance on the Boiler Room, DJ support from the likes of Mosca, Ben UFO, Jacques Greene and Blawan and releases on Idle Hands, Horizontal Ground and Syndrome Z  under his belt already.

Warm up duties on the night are handed to the All Caps Crew.

This Friday, Palace are teaming up with Mixed Bizness for the third in their series of events and collaborations across Glasgow.

As we mentioned last week, Palace is a new series of collaborative events representing the best electronic music the city has to offer. They kicked things off last weekend with Falty DL and Jon Phonics at Stereo and followed it up on Sunday with a sold out Lil B show at Nice N Sleazy’s.

For the third event, Palace have enlisted the help of veteran club promoter’s Mixed Bizness to bring two headline acts to La Cheetah Club.

Hailing from Austin, Texas, Dubbel Dutch has been making waves in the european dance music scene for some time now, with releases for Unkown To The Unknown, Palms Out Sounds and Mixpak and remixes for the likes of Untold and Nguzunguzu. Expect a versatile selection of anything from UKG, house and techno to Grime, R&B and dancehall.

Originally from Chicago but now based in New York, Brenmar made a name for himself with bootleg remixes of DJ Deeon, Aaliyah and Cassie, not to mention his own productions, including his 2010 club anthem Boy U Got Me.  His love of Hip Hop, juke, R&B and house music shines through in his tracks and makes for a brilliant hour of music.

Support on the night comes from Sega Bodega and Mixed Bizness’ Boom Monk Ben.

This Friday sees the launch party of the Palace festival in Glasgow, we posted about it yesterday. The festival is being run as a series of collaborations with local promoters, producers and DJ s, and their kicking everything off with Deadly Rhythm, who are celebrating their first birthday in Glasgow.

Deadly Rhythm hosted the first half of their birthday celebrations at Chambre 69 with Braiden and Jon Rust last weekend and are continuing the party this weekend at Stereo with three headlining acts.

Hailing from New York, Falty DL‘s music is difficult to label, with multiple releases on Planet Mu, Ramp Recordings, Ninja Tune  and most recently Swamp 81, who put out his single Mean Streets Part Two. His DJ sets are  often unpredictable so be sure to expect a genre splicing hour of music.

Endian was one half of now defunct D n B act Commix. His first release Birdhouse on Nonplus signifies a departure from his D n B roots into a much deeper techno sound.

Jon Phonics started his career writing beats for everyone from Foreign Beggars to P Money. He released his first solo record last year and since then has been playing his mix of hip hop, funk and boogie all over the place.

Support on the night come from the Deadly Rhythm resident DJs.

This Saturday 5 May, Void are bringing some of Detroit’s finest to Glasgow’s new favourite club, Chambre 69.

DJ Maaco is one half of Detroit in Effect, a highly underrated duo probably best known for their releases on Clone Records in the early 2000′s and for running the highly respected M.A.P. Records.

Playing alongside DJ Maaco is Dutch native DJ Overdose, a veteran selector of hip hop, electro and Miami bass who’s had releases on Strange Life and Murder Capital. Check out his mix for Fact Magazine.

Last but not least, analogue performance specialists Fancy & Spook will be playing alongside the headliners. The pair are no strangers to a Glaswegian audience having played at Void‘s debut night back in January this year.

Support on the night comes from the aptly named Void Millitia; Galaxian, Ean, Twonko, Smiddy and Jan will all be spinning tunes from 11pm onwards.

To celebrate the release of Auntie Flo’s debut album Future Rhythm Machine, Highlife are throwing a Glaswegian launch party at La Cheetah Club on Saturday 5 May.

Auntie Flo AKA Brian D’Souza has been rather busy for the last couple of years, firstly with his monthly Highlife parties bringing the likes of Caribou, Shackleton and  Nicolas Jaar to Glasgow, and more recently with his own productions. Last years Goan Highlife and Oh My Days drew praise from across the musical spectrum including support from Optimo’s JD Twitch, Jackmaster and Ricardo Villalobos to name but a few.

Future Rhythm Machine is the follow up to these works and whilst not strictly a full length album, it is a brilliant example of the producers diverse set of influences. The album features collaborations with Chilean singer Mamacita and Glasgow’s favourite South African Esa Williams and will be available on vinyl and as a digital release.

The album’s title is a reference to British-Ghanian writer Kodwo Eshun. As Brian puts it:

Kodwo Eshun talks about the ‘futurhythmachine’ where he disputes the western futurist preoccupation with noise in favour of rhythm – it is the rhythm machine which joins the dots between all music of the black Atlantic from Afrobeat and Highlife to Techno, Soul and Hip Hop. Whilst I have always been interested in ‘black music’, I had less exposure to African and South American music until a few years ago, so there is still a freshness which is really exciting. I have always been drawn to the rhythm or groove of any piece of music, much more so than lyrical content for example. When I listen to African music i hear new rhythms, new possibilities and a glimpse into another world.

Future Rhythm Machine is released on 14 May on Huntley & Palmers. The Glasgow launch party is on Saturday 5 May at La Cheetah Club and is free before midnight and £5 after. For more information go to the Facebook event page.
