Talented cornball, Ryan Leslie makes a complete song from scratch in this video. From the initial beatbox sketch recorded on his iPhone, to inviting his fans (over twitter) to the studio to watch him recording his vocals. Slightly cringey, but impressive.

The Radio Magnetic blog brings you the latest gigs, clubs, festivals and music news from throughout the UK and worldwide.

Massive congratulations to Glasgow’s very own Rustie, who has just won the Guardian’s first album award, for his debut LP “Glass Swords”, released on Warp in October, 2011. Other nominees included Katy B, James Blake, SBTRKT and Jamie Woon. Well done Rustie.

“Rustie’s debut album Glass Swords, you see, is a playful riot of a record, a neon tapestry of sonic thrills that incorporates 80s pop, happy hardcore, the Seinfeld theme, soft rock and hip-hop – often all at the same time.”

Read more about the award and an exclusive interview with Rustie on The Guardian music site.

Ok, obviously we don’t need to tell you anything about these guys. Since their collaborative album “Watch The Throne” dropped last year, love it or hate it – this song has been taking over clubs all over the world. Seems strange that the video only just came out yesterday, but it’s worth the wait. Enjoy.

British Techno legend, Kirk Degiorgio provided Red Bull Music Academy with an amazing tribute to the late, great Curtis Mayfield.

We had to share this one. What a lot of people won’t realise, is that Curtis not only had a successful career as a solo recording artist, he also wrote hits for people such as Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight & The Pips amongst other soul greats. This mix showcases to both his own, and other’s classic work. Enjoy!

Classic Album Sundays - A Communal and Audiophile Listening is an innovative and special way to listen to some of the greatest albums ever. Experience it yourself at the Berkeley Suite on Sun 26 Feb.

The Radio Magnetic blog brings you the latest gigs, clubs, festivals and music news from throughout the UK and worldwide.

Classic Album Sundays: A Communal and Audiophile Listening has been steadily building a reputation amongst festival goers and music lovers in the UK as an innovative and special way to listen to some of the greatest albums of all time. Listed as one of the top 20 trends of 2012 by London magazine ES, and featuring on BBC 6 music, NME and many more, after a handful of successful but low key CAS events at Loud & Clear in Glasgow the event concept is moving to a bigger venue and can be experienced in person in Glasgow at the Berkeley Suite on Sunday 26 February from 5pm with The Stone Roses – The Stone Roses.

CAS uses audiophile hi-fi sound systems to ensure a premium listening experience and people are asked to switch off their mobile phones and to refrain from unnecessary conversation and just listen to a complete classic LP in it’s entirety. This means the album’s story and musical contexts are presented so people can truly immerse themselves in the experience.

The Stone Roses eponymous debut album is a truly classic album, ranking in many album charts as one of the greatest of all time. Released in 1989 it cemented the bands reputation amongst critics and is seen as a pivotal influence for large swathes of UK and Stateside indie music that followed.

The event will begin at 5pm with some of the music that inspired the Stone Roses, and also tracks from their musical contemporaries around the release of the album in 1989. Then at 7.30pm the lights will go down, the volume will be cranked up and the album will be played from beginning to end on a reference Linn Klimax System. The Audio Menu will include a Kontrol pre-amplifier, a pair of Klimax Solo power amplifiers, a Klimax DS, classic Sondek LP12 and Linn Loudspeakers for all you techies.

For only £5, Classic Album Sundays looks to be money well spent. In the setting of the Berkeley Suite we can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday.

Listen online, download and stream Kingdom's debut Glasgow DJ set, recorded live at Chambre 69 in Glasgow on 13 January.

Listen online, download and stream this DJ mix recorded live at Kingdom’s debut performance in Glasgow on 13 January.

Kingdom is one of the best up and coming bass music producers in America at the moment with multiple releases under his belt including releases on the much lauded Night Slugs imprint.

His most recent EP Dreama showcases some of his darkest work to date and this darkness shines through in the two hour mix, taking you through some of the darkest elements of techno, grime, UK funky and house intricately spliced with elements of R & B, hip hop, ghetto tech and footwork in a truly unique fashion.

Check out an interview we did with Kingdom on the night here .

The next Mixed Bizness event is a collaboration with Vitamins at La Cheetah club with Ben UFO & Mosca.
