He’s also involved with Birmingham based music producer community Louis Den and in August 2007 he met Darren Hay and what started as an ambitious idea finally turned into an 80 minute DVD! Check out the excerpt from the DVD above.

This is FS Green, he’s 20 years old, from Amsterdam and he features in Behind Closed Doors Vol.2, a hip hop production DVD magazine filmed, edited and released by Andy Brown and Darren Hay. They pressed up a limited run of 500 hand-numbered DVDs and have 200 left for sale. The 80 minute DVD features talent from up and down the UK as well as overseas in Holland.
Ah, September. Lively freshers flood our fair city with youthful enthusiasm, ready to sample a plethora of clubs, djs and 90p spirits. Some will fail to look beyond the deep fried melting pot of Sauchiehall street, so god bless those adventurous souls willing to look a bit further for their new favourite night out.

One such party we wholeheartedly endorse is Mixed Bizness at Glasgow School of Art, who have just announced a post-summer re-launch just in time for the new academic term. Now in its second year, Mixed Bizness regularly welcomes a lively crowd of loyal fans as well as curious freshers, seeking everything from hip hop to dubstep, house to disco, dancehall to funk and most importantly, bass.

Resident DJ Benny Boom will be holding down the fort every Thursday alongside a new batch of rotating upstarts, namely MGCK, NoFace, Point to C and Djamba. Forthcoming Mixed Bizness highights include dubstep posterboy Benga at the Art School on Friday 17 September and hip hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash at the Sub Club on Wednesday 20 October.

Check out some of resident, Boom Monk Ben’s past mixes and podcasts on Radio Magnetic for a taste of what to expect.

Fabric management announce that the London nightclub is out of administration, however the future of sister club Matter is still in doubt.

I’m sure many Magnetic heads were sad to hear about the seemingly imminent closure of London’ s Fabric nightclub after rumors began circulating earlier this month. Well fear not! CMU reports that management have confirmed the sale of the club to a new business called Fabric Life and will continue to be run by the same team.

In a statement released on Thursday, Fabric said they were “delighted” that they were no longer in administration and added that nothing within the scope of the Fabric ethos or team would change.

All of this means fans of the club can breathe a sigh of relief, and with upcoming nights including Martyn, Cooly G, Shakelton and the Numbers 7th birthday, there are plenty of chances to celebrate the rescue of a truly vital venue.

Meanwhile, the clubs sister project Matter, whose mounting debts reportedly caused the whole mess in the first place is currently closed. While the website states that this will only last the summer, many have reservations about the future of the O2 venue. Watch this space.

The Hinterland multi-venue and multi-genre music festival is back for 2010. Taking over Glasgow for one day on Saturday 3 April from 5pm until 3am. Radio Magnetic are very pleased to announce that we’ll be hosting the Arches event as part of Hinterland which features Friendly Fires and Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard amongst some more treats and surprises including a Ballers Social Club showcase and The Greco Roman Soundsystem.

So far acts on the bill, over and above the unmissable Arches finale, include Jeffrey Lewis, Hot Club De Paris, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, British Sea Power, The Wave Pictures and Kitty The Lion.

Tickets are only £10 for early birds and this ticket allows access to all events, venues and gigs over the course of the Saturday. Sounds like a bargain to us.

Plus there’s a load more to be announced over the coming weeks including the full lowdown on acts and exactly which of the city’s venues are taking part. Watch this space for more info or check out the official Hinterland website.

After ten years of keeping quiet, Leftfield will return to the stage with a tremendous live act at this summer's RockNess fetsival. RockNess 2010 takes place on Friday 11 June to Sunday 13 June and is sure to be another excellent addition to the festival calendar.

After ten years of keeping quiet, Leftfield will return to the stage with a tremendous live act at this summer’s RockNess festival. The event, which has been referred to as the ‘Most Beautiful Festival in the World,’ will be held on the shores of iconic Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands for three days in June 2010.

As one of the most influential electronic bands of all time, Leftfield delved into a new style of music that no one had ever touched on before. The fusion of epic soundscapes with intoxicating rhythms in their album, Leftism, was what truly marked them in dance music history. The Face magazine described it as “… the best dance album ever.” Even now, bands such as The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers and Underworld are still inspired to use the pounding beats of Leftfield although none of it compares.

Jim King, Festival Director and huge fan of Leftfield shared his excitement by saying: “We’ve been trying to get Leftfield to do some shows for years and now its actually going to happen.” After last year’s great success, RockNess 2010 takes place on Friday 11 June to Sunday 13 June which is sure to bring an outstanding line up of acts to the stage for another year.
