Harry and Dave debate what matters most in another episode of Current View.

In this show they discuss Obama’s victory, the introduction of exams for supermarket employees, and of course it wouldn’t be the same if they didn’t touch upon (oops) their good friend Gary Glitter.

Gooch and Herron, are back with another up-to-date view on the current state of affairs.

Discussions on recent global events include, amongst others, the missing 1500 fell-runners, the Moroccan royal family, and the meeting of the government and bank bosses to exchange cash in suitcases at Cafe Nero.

The boys take another look at the current view emanating from the studios lush surroundings and this week it’s all about the 3 P’s Protoypes, Palin and Pauline.

Harry and Dave imagine themselves on a hypothetical space mission. Meanwhile, back on earth they encounter armoured jeeps, computer grids and Yorg Haider. They look back at Wendy Richard’s career and blow a kiss to the Pig In Lipstick, Sarah Palin.

Radio Magnetic’s comedy all stars, the self proclaimed King of Radio Harry Gooch and Dave Heron, take a break from their busy routine to look through the current view from their topical room and spill forth their thoughts. Well, we say busy routine. Apparently Mr Gooch is a chef come kitchen porter and as for Dave, he’s still waiting patiently by his door for the postman to deliver his PHD. Just as well Radio Magnetic is here to keep them out of trouble then.

This week the topics of choice are Barry George and his recent release from jail for the wrongly accused murder of Gill Dando, a brief blast from the past in the unsettling form of Gina G and of course Dave’s increasingly worrying views about Gingers crop up again. Don’t worry Harry, we know every woman secretly wants a swatch of the thatch.

Welcome to the start of a new comedic podcast series brought to you by Radio Magnetic. Every week improvisational comedians Harry Gooch and Dave Heron drop into our studio to discuss recent news and offer their own spin on current affairs events.

When Harry isn’t hosting improvisational stand up comedy nights at The Byre Theatre in St. Andrews or comparing Fence Records club nights in Glasgow and Edinburgh, he writes, performs and provides cutting commentary with Dave.

Harry is descended from the Great Ginger Kings of Old, the original warriors who forged the basis of modern Europe. Dave is probably descended from a long line of wizards.

When Harry’s not making people laugh he’s a chef. Dave has recently completed but not obtained a PHD and knows a lot about the two Fs, finance and physics. That’s why we thought they’d be the best people to comment on the important issues of today. And we’re pretty sure they get it just right. Most of the time.
