Somehow, amongst the desperate scramble to release Wiley albums, attend (or avoid) Xmas parties and refurbish Big Dada Towers, we’ve managed to stuff a Christmas stocking of a podcast until its very seams are stretching.

There’s new music from Speech Debelle, Roots Manuva, Bang On!, Dobie and of course, Wiley himself, who’s even contributed a Christmas song he made ‘specially (well, he made, at least.) Belated yes, but for some excellent reasons we’re sure you’ll agree. It’s the end of year special so for the latest Big Dada podcast A La Fu takes a look back at the label’s artists and releases of 2009 which saw the label pick up this years Mercury Music Prize for Speech Debelle’s, Speech Therapy album as well as releases by Diplo, Juice Aleem, Anti-Pop Consortium and debut releases from X Rabit, Two Fingers, Thavius Beck and Thunderheist.

The second in our new podcasting relationship with hip-hop afficionados and all round good folks, Big Dada Recordings is here. Presented by A La Fu and featuring tracks from Diplo, King Geedorah and recent signings, Offshore.

Also featuring Thavius Beck, Thunderheist and, to end the episode, a special live recording from The Majesticons from their performance at The Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh from back in 2003.

Established in 2007, Big Dada are the offshoot of London-based indie label, Ninja Tune. The label’s first release was a a collaboration between Luke Vibert and Juice Aleem under the name The Misanthropics with their 12″,  ’Alpha Pryhme’.

They currently boast a diverse and dynamic collection of artists on their roster including Anti Pop Consortium, Cadence Weapon, cLOUDDEAD, Busdriver, Diplo, Gamma, Juice Aleem, Spank Rock, Lotek Hi-fi, Majesticons, New Flesh and, of course, Roots Manuva. The label has continuously set and raised the bar in terms of innovative and underground, quality hip hop music over the past ten years.
