Orbit is back again to bring you the best new releases from around the globe, featuring Reptar, Diagrams and Nada Surf.

Listen online, stream and download Radio Magnetic’s weekly new music show presented by Joe Carr.

This week’s episode is named after Iapetus, a spectacular moon of Saturn. Famed for its incredible size and equatorial ridges, Iapetus also has an incredible two-tone coloration where one side is darker than the other due to a very unusual rotation pattern.

We don’t ever want to hear you say you don’t learn a thing or two whilst immersing yourself in Orbit. Granted, much of this information could be garnered from Wikipedia. You don’t get a selection of the best new musical releases there though, do you?

And on that note this week we have a selection of great songs for you with Anna Terheim’s ethereal new single playing off against Django Django’s dreamy mantra and Major Lazer’s electro space dub for your affections. Sit back, relax and let us take you into our Orbit.

Titania is the largest moon of Uranus and the 8th largest moon in the Solar System, in fact it’s so big it not only measures 1,578 kilometres in diameter but also takes 8.7 days to orbit the planet.

It was founded by William Hershal in 1787 and named after the Fairy Queen Titania, in William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream whom like her namesake moon was a formidable beast and a force to contend with.

Orbit also packs a colossal punch this week with the big voices of Zola Jesus and Dan Mangan mixing it with the immense pumping basslines of Machine Gun Militia and Ukkonen.
Come and have a listen to Orbit. Our pick of this weeks new releases with music from Young Aviators, Dillon, Tycho, Widowspeak and more.

Listen online, stream and download Radio Magnetic’s weekly new music show.

Rhea is the second largest moon of Saturn named after the mother of the gods in Greek mythology and this week’s Orbit, in a sense, is the metaphorical mother of new releases, slaving away listening to all the new music that comes into the Radio Magnetic inbox, choosing our favourites and releasing them into the world via the medium of podcast, to stand alone and be judged by the world.

Ok well maybe I’m stretching this metaphor a wee bit far but we certainly do have some great new releases for you this week in the form of Laura Gibson, Dillon and a very special song of the week from The Black Keys.

So I’ll say to you just as my mother always said to me “Put that down! You don’t know where it’s been!” and once again let us take you into our orbit.

Back on the air with Joe Carr-Hollands, Orbit will bring you the best new releases from around the globe.

This week’s episode is named after Jupiter’s fourth Galilean moon Io. Io is named after a Greek high priestess nymph lady whom Zeus had his way with without consent (Surprise Surprise). Bizarrely he then turned her into a small cow so he could get away with his dirty deed. As if being transformed into a mini cow wasn’t bad enough she was then viciously attacked by a gadfly sent by Zeus’s wife Hera who was not best pleased about her husband’s unwanted advances upon the young priestess.

We will not be partaking in any non-consensual come-ons or bovine related tricky this week, but whether it’s the pulsating guitars of Spector or the deep pulsating beats of Quasi Dub Development we will find something to entice you into our Orbit.

Listen online, stream and download Radio Magnetic’s new music show Orbit.

This episode features brand new tracks from the likes of Harvey McKay, Girl Unit and Emilio Rojas plus loads of other great new music. This week’s episode is named after Uranus’ innermost moon Miranda.

In William Shakespeares play The Tempest, Miranda is the well educated, if somewhat sheltered daughter of Prospero. In the play, Prospero arranges for her to marry the character Ferdinand. Even though she’s fifteen. It’s fine, it was written in the seventeenth century. Loads of weird stuff happened in the seventeenth century.

This week, we’ve arranged a questionable selection of tracks into the holiest of matrimonies. Whether it be the spacey delights of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart or the grimey bounce of Becoming Real, you’ll find something to entice you into our orbit.

Matthew Sweeney and Radio Magnetic return for another intergalactic journey through this week's new music galaxy featuring Rustie, Chromeo and Flying Lotus.

Listen online to Radio Magnetic’s new music show from Matthew Sweeney. This week we’ve got brand new music from Rustie, Chromeo and Flying Lotus plus we caught up with Frazer Graham from Glasgow band Vendor Defender to chat about their new single. This week’s episode is named after Saturn’s fifteenth moon Titan.

In Greek Mytholog, the Titans were a group of Deities that ruled the legendary Golden Age. They were eventually overthrown by a gang of younger gods called the Olympians, led by serial deviant Zeus.

In much the same style as the Olympians, we’re overthrowing the Golden Age of music with some younger, fresher hits. Whether it be the electro pop of Chromeo or the grimey delights of Newham Generals you’ll find something to entice you into our Orbit.
