Dan Monox has been running one of Glasgows longest running underground club nights, Monox for ten years now and still going strong. Here’s an exclusive mix from the man himself.

Pulling talent from every corner of the globe aswell as showing strong support to local artists, Monox has hosted more memorable nights than any self respecting clubber could ever hope to witness.

Monox guests have come far and wide and have included the likes of Robert Hood, Surgeon, Underground Resistance, James Ruskin, John Selway, Frankie Bones, DJ Funk, Monolake, T++,  Abe Duque, basically the who’s who of quality electronc music, the list is endless!

Dan Monox has previously held down a residency at Berlin’s Tresor, been on tour around Europe and now runs his own label, MNX Recordings which started out in 2002 as well as managing RubaDub Records.

With various releases on labels including Michael Forshaws classic imprint Chan ‘N Mikes, aswell as Feinwerk, Miditonal and of course his own MNX Recordings Dan is now back in the studio and has releases lined up on various labels for 2010 which should be a big year..look forward to seeing what comes next!

Exclusive live set from deep techno producer and DJ, Arne Weinberg recorded live at Slabs of the Tabernacle on Saturday 5 September 2009. This is the first in a brand new series called SOS (Spaced Out Sounds). SOS will be featuring exclusive sessions and recordings from Glasgow based electronic artists on a monthly basis.

Arne Weinberg born 1973 and raised in south Germany. After several different musical styles, Arne discovered Techno music at the age of 21 and soon after started to DJ. After perfecting his turntable skills, he became a resident at the Depot club in Tuebingen, where he ran a monthly club night.

In 2001 Frankfurt based label Propaganda, released his first 12″,  the Through the Colonnades EP which was well received and championed by Laurent Garnier amongst notable others. Dutch Groundzero/Keynote label, saw his second release, the Snowflake EP in 2002. Numerous 12″ releases followed on various labels from Starbaby, Down Low, Headspace, Matrix Detroit, Styrax, Echocord Colour and Metrolux.

AW-Recordings, Arnes own label has been going strong since 2004, with artists such as The Moderator, Sean Deason, Duplex, DJ 3000, Erell Ranson, Kubra, Convextion, Deixis and Arne himself. Since moving to Glasgow in 2008 Arne has been kept busy working on his label, deejaying and developing his own electronic music….and long may he continue.
