As one of the UK’s most distinctive rappers, Trim’s musical output has been a bit hit or miss over the years. His distinctive flow and tone was one of the stand out features on the early Roll Deep records and his track Like Me with Becoming Real was one of the most interesting collaborations of 2010. Since then the East London MC has been fairly quiet, save for a couple of intense diss tracks and mediocre singles. 

This latest FACT Magazine giveaway East, is a collaboration with Last Japan and follows hot on the heels of news that  this will be Trim’s last release before signing an exclusive album deal with Rinse.

Following up her 2011 collaboration with Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford, Little Boots returns with another collab, this time with long-time admirer Andy Butler, of Hercules & Love Affair fame. The new single, Every Night I Say A Prayer, being released as a one off limited edition 12″ on the newly reformed Trax Records and to coincide with Record Store Day.

To celebrate the release of Every Night I Say A Prayer, Little Boots is giving away the Tensnake remix absolutely free. The single also feature remixes by 80s club god Joe Smooth and fidget-house maestro Nic Sarno.

Squalloscope is the second alias of Vienna based Anna Kohlweis, born in Klagenfurt in the summer of 1984, who has previously released three solo albums as Paper Bird. Squalloscope was chosen as a second alias as a means of marking a deeply personal evolution, like drawing a line on a doorframe documenting growth, like finding an adequate new nickname to use in a time bound to become a new era. Anna Kohlweis is a passionate sleeper, avid dreamer of creepy dreams and enthusiastic collector of good stories. Soft Invasions is the first Squalloscope album, based on notes from a travel diary and was recorded in the summer of 2011, mostly in Anna Kohlweis’ home. Various guests were invited to contribute to this collection of songs about leaving, arriving and the utterly bizarre time in between; about strangers, lovers and friends one meets on the road, the bridges we built and holes we leave behind when we go.
