Glasgow’s premier alternative beats night Kinky Afro took to Connect Festival’s Unknown Pleasures stage under Slam’s curation on Sunday afternoon.
Those that have seen the duo will know it’s one half Radio Magnetic head honcho and instigator Dougal Perman with one half Clash Deputy Editor Matt Bennet. Together they join forces to create the unmistakable DJ talent that is Kinky Afro. Mr Mafro (Matt) usually lays down the dubstep and dancehall while The Kink Dog (Dougal) brings the heavy dancefloor driven electro which we’re sure you’ll find out on this mix is a match made in dancefloor heaven.
Unfortunately Sunday at Connect’s Unknown Pleasures tent was less of a dancefloor and more of stomp swamp after the deluge that the site experienced during the day but thanks to the Kinky boys the crowd could come out of the cold rain and into the tent for a wee shaboogie in their wellies.
