Andrew Bird, from USA, and Emma Pollock, from Scotland, shared a bill at the HMV Picture House in Edinburgh on Sunday 23 August as part of The Edge Festival.
We were there to record the gig and speak to both artists about their experience playing Edinburgh during The Fringe. Emma talks about how she feels when playing live and what she thinks about Andrew Bird’s simple yet beautiful style of performance.

This gig was recorded using a Line 6 UX2 audio interface, MacBook Pro and Audacity. The interviews were recorded using Line 6 BackTrack+Mic portable recorders.
Radio Magnetic records live sessions using:
TonePort UX 8, PodStudio UX2 and BackTrack+Mic.

Where can i download the actual recording of the gig?
Does the taped show ever get posted here or aired anywhere? I feel like this information is something I should be able to find but apparently I’m totally missing it.
Hey,
What we do is record the live sets from gigs then pass on the recording to the artists for approval before we put them on Radio Magnetic for streaming and download. We’ll be hoping to have this set up in the next week or two so keep an eye on the site and sign up for the newsletter to keep informed.
Cheers!
Andy
Hey Meg,
Hopefully you’ll be able to listen to the gig directly from the site in the next few weeks, pending on us getting approval from the artists in question. The sets were great so were confident they’ll be approved soon.
That’s great, thanks Andy!
Any update on this? It was a great gig, I’d love to be able to hear it again
Hey Meg,
Still chasing up approvals from The Edge. We’re confident the full live set will be up on RM in a week or two though.
Cheers,
Andy
