Huntleys and Palmers Audio Club was established by Andrew Thomson in December 2007 with the earnest ambition simply to throw a memorable party – with an emphasis on good music – and bring artists / DJ’s to Glasgow for the exposure they deserve.
Over the past two years guests almost 60 guests have played – ranging from James Holden, Daedelus and Solomun to Pilooski, Joakim, Daniele Baldelli and Todd Terje. With lessons in electronics from Silver Apples, Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Krikor. Fun parties have also been had with James Pants, Francisco and Aeroplane - not to mention the wealth of local talent Glasgow has on offer such as Jackmaster and David Barbarossa and Fox Gut Daata.
With Four Tet crowning 2 years last month, it’s time to look ahead; with plans well underway to start regular parties in London, launch a label and continue promoting new and exciting music. Look out for the next Glasgow party, which takes place on Sunday 21 February in the CCA – as part of this year’s Glasgow Film Festival.
The mix itself is more varied than you can expect from an H&P club set, but serves as a representation of the music you could hear – depending on the guest or occasion. Enjoy.
