  1. Dear Jim,

    We ARE checking out!!!!
Good tunes will always win! Not everyone can find them and put them on such a good show though so cheers for that.

    V.

  2. Jim Gellatly only plays safe pop. He never promotes innovation or new directions. John Peel he ain’t :(

  3. OK Jeff,

The thing is Jim does what Jim does best and that is good quality Scottish pop rock and indie.

If you’re looking for something else then tell us what that is. We may already have show catering for more experimental tastes or maybe we don’t and someone has to fill those boots.

We’re currently chatting with a couple of people (step up Tallah) about some exciting shows that will be dropping in the weeks after Hinterland Festival so watch this space.

On the John Peel front. NO one can match that man. I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until the Matrix resets itself before we get another Saint John Peel.

  4. Hey Jeff,

Never proclaim myself to be doing anything experimental, you’ll find plenty of experimental stuff of all genres elsewhere as Tony says.

You may say it’s safe, but I don’t pretend it’s anything else (after all, I’m credited with giving KT Tunstall, The Fratellis and Amy Macdonald their first airplay).

I’m sure you might find a few anomalies in the episodes from time to time (like Nadsroic in episode 29) but generally it’s upfront indie rock… and music that tends to be ignored by mainstream radio but may well end up there eventually.

    Jim G
