A relatively freaky tricky treaty for you with this installment. The fourth and by far the strangest mix to date. As ever, the most pleasing old and new music heard in recent weeks feature; frequently with a relatively ugly undercurrent of terror-stricken torment.
In keeping with the oft-overlooked notion of good old fashioned fun and also timed to coincide with the scariest event on the yearly calendar, here’s my Halloween special mix.
We kick off with NY’s No Wave electronic pioneers, Suicide’s ghostly tune from their 1977 eponymous debut, devils come courtesy of Joakim and Scratch Perry , Dogs of War provide the pirates, zombies are more Fela Kuti’s bag and Sexual Harrassment need a freak. Some ridiculous hip-hop halloween edit of Morrissey (with whom the responsibility for this lies I have no idea), Capracara, Supermax, Ariel Pink and John Cooper Clarke are all in town this week too.
Spooking hell! Time to get off your monkey nut.
