Scottish Enterprise wanted to celebrate The MOBO Awards taking place in Glasgow on Wednesday 30 September. They contacted Radio Magnetic’s parent company, Inner Ear, to organise an event on the eve of the awards ceremony at The Hub, Pacific Quay, Glasgow.
We were very interested by the concept of The MOBO Awards coming to Glasgow so we, alongside Soma Skool, Open Ear and New Media Corp devised the Glasgow. Music. Now. event.
This is the first in a series of three podcasts produced by Inner Ear from the event. It features the first panel debate of the event which was chaired by Channel 4 Nations and Regions Director, Stuart Cosgrove and sitting on the panel, Esa Williams of the Sub Club, Grahame Smith from AV9, Laura McCrum founder of the organisation, Urbanscot and MC Profisee of Cloak x Dagger debating the relevance of The MOBO Awards in Glasgow via two discussions entitled, Scotland’s Cultural Soul in the Digital Age and What do you know about The MOBO Awards.
Because the Glasgow. Music. Now. event was a day of performance, debate and discussion as well as educational and music industry workshops and stalls we regret that from time to time background noise and disturbance can be heard. This was completely outwith the control of Inner Ear when recording the day’s proceedings. The content in the podcast still makes for a very entertaining and informative listen despite these minor issues.
