Scottish Enterprise wanted to celebrate The MOBO Awards taking place in Glasgow on Wednesday 30 September. They contacted Radio Magnetic’s parent company, Inner Ear,  to organise an event on the eve of the awards ceremony at The Hub, Pacific Quay, Glasgow.

We were very interested by the concept of The MOBO Awards coming to Glasgow so we, alongside Soma SkoolOpen Ear and New Media Corp devised the Glasgow. Music. Now. event.

The second episode in the podcast series from the event features an interview with Laura McCrum, one of the panellists from the debate featured in Episode 1. Laura is a founding member of the UrbanScot organisation and is an active advocate for Race Equality, Human Rights and Mental Health, and a member of the Cross Party Music Advisory group at the Scottish Government. She used to present the r’n'b show, Blackstreet on BBC Scotland. Here, Laura talks about the issues facing UrbanScot today, her reasons for co-founding the organisation and her vision for the organisation’s future. We also hear from Chris McDougall, UrbanScot’s main promoter explaining his role and his reasons for becoming involved with UrbanScot.

We regret that from time to time background noise and disturbance can be heard within this podcast. This was completely outwith the control of Inner Ear when recording the interview. The content in the podcast still makes for a very entertaining and informative listen despite these minor issues.
