02.12.09 | Sleepless Crew Live At B^stard Dancehall

Welcome to the latest Homeclubbing installment. This time round, we’ve got an exclusive live recording of Sleepless Crew from their support slot for Andrew Weatherall at the flagship B^stard Dancehall night at Glasgow’s Stereo on Friday 16 October 2009.
The Sleepless Crew have had their productions played and championed extensively by the likes of Rustie and Hudson Mohawke to Alex Smoke, Andrew Weatherall and Modeselektor. Described as ‘heavy bumping dancehall style acid cuts with a good line in bass destruction’ they were the perfect warm up for the B^stard Dancehall’s inaugural night and the ensuing bass and space heavy, dubbed out beats which Mr Weatherall rocked and swayed the dancehall to.
The Sleepless Crew have been releasing tracks since 2004, using Subplate Records and
Dalriada. Dalriada Records is a label brought to you from the nice chaps at Glasgow’s Rubadub Records. The institution that is Ruibadub have been selling quality electronic music to the world for over twelve years now. They also run Club 69 in Paisley, whose past guests read like a who’s who of techno and electronic music of the last ten years. The label is dedicated to releasing music which will stand the test of time, from new and preferably local, homegrown talent. The perfect fit for our Homeclubbing series.
We hope you enjoy this set as much as we enjoyed it on the night and after repeated and continous listens.

  1. Oh, what a night that was. And then the morning after. The afternoon was drowsy but productive!
