Orbit is back again bringing you the freshest music from our intergalactic pastures. Brand new tracks this week coming from the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Swindle and Hot Club De Paris. This week’s episode is named after Neptune’s second moon Thalassa.
In Greek mythology Thalassa was a primordial sea Goddess and was the personification of the Mediterranean sea. Now, in ancient Greek times I’m sure it was fine to be the personification of the Mediterranean sea, a sea god here, a mythological creature there. But picture being Thalassa in this day and age. I can’t imagine anything worse than having a couple of thousand British tourists inside me for 3 months of the year.
If the idea of several thousand British holidaymakers entering a sea goddess has turned your stomach, fear not as this weeks episode is the musical equivalent of Rennies. Whether it be the Scottish folk of Frightened Rabbit or the grimey delights of Swindle, you’ll find something to entice you into our Orbit.
