There are many Greek Helen’s which Saturn’s moon could have been named after; the most famous one, of course, being Helen, of the ‘face-that-launched-a-thousand-ships’ fame.

As many Hollywood films have shown us, Helen of Troy was a bit of a hottie which lead to her abduction/elopement with the manly Paris. This (quite rightly) got husband, Menelaus a bit hot under the collar and… well you know the rest: battles, wooden horses, lots of slaying etc, etc.

Helen(e) (the ‘e’ is optional it seems) could also be an Amazonian warrior who was fated to meet Achilles in battle. After she wounded him, he plunged a sword into her breast and fell in love with her at the same time.

Achilles was an idiot like that.

So basically, what the name teaches us is that Helen(e)’s are beautiful and that men can’t always be trusted to act rationally.
