Listen online, stream and download this exclusive Live Circuit Session from Tinariwen recorded by us live at The Arches in Glasgow from back in 2007.

The quite awesome UK based, Malian blues rock outfit, Tinariwen return to Glasgow in 2012 to play at Oran Mor and we urge you to get a ticket. Their latest album, Tassili released earlier this year is amongst the best LPs they’ve made, we think.

Given their excellent new album and their upcoming gig in Glasgow next year we thought it was about time we unearthed this classic live recording we made back in 2007 at what was a truly memorable evening of music at The Arches.

Enjoy.

Listen online, stream and download the monthly Wild Combination podcast on Radio Magnetic. Presented by one of Glasgow’s finest DJs, David Barbarossa.

This months Wild Combination comes to you a little late due to your hosts ill health. DB couldn’t manage carrying a whole bag of large records to the studio, so he used that to his advantage and turned in a selection of 7inch dancefloor (and home listening) favourites.

Leaning into the microphone was a bit of a stretch too, so it’s very much a case of less talk, more rock (or in this case more Euro Funk, Afro Beat, Psychsploiation & other exotic treasures).

No bad back next month. Back next month, no bad.

WCSP is a communications and design company operating across multiple platforms. Born in Glasgow on the tenth day of October 2010 or 10/10/10 if you prefer.

WE CAN STILL PICNIC is a brand new trick in town, a (very) loose collective of artists, musicians, writers, provocateurs, poets, aesthetes, facilitators… The stated aim is to stimulate / manipulate / agitate and social interaction is high on the agenda… all uptight and designed to thrill.

Various nights occur, including a club at Mono a sister club at the Admiral, called Loose Lips, plus our own record label. We also distribute We Can Still Picnic pamphlets which feature musings on everything from Yves Klein to Sun Ra to Saul Bass to Boards of Canada.

So anyway without further ado, welcome to Episode One with WCSP members Bjorn Sandberg, Andy Power and Radio Magnetic‘s Andy McColgan. A few teething problems but we got there. More from We Can Still Picnic very soon too. Hope you enjoy it.

This mix was gifted to us to gift to you as part of our 10th Anniversary series.

We deliberated for a long time over the music to include in this mix. We were conscious of the diverse and eclectic nature of Radio Magnetic and wanted to reflect that as well as our personal taste. What we came up with is a sort of microcosm of what we do at a deeper groove. Some old favourites, some slept on’s and some future classics…..maybe.

Hope you enjoy it!

Too Many Fireworks is an independent record label from Glasgow, Scotland. now relocated to Warsaw in Poland. The too many fireworks podcast (2mfcast) is a semi-regular stab at creating a decent music show playing the best in modern classical, independent, ambient, electronic and post-rock music. It features DJ sets, interviews and other chat as well as the odd surprise thrown in.

We return after a few months’ hiatus with a new series of podcasts we’ve decided to call Less Chat, More Taxi. The series will feature a selection of mixes by bands, artists and friends of the label all with one simple aim; to create the ultimate post-clubbing mix. Our first comes from the label’s own, Allons-y!

So, after a long night’s clubbing, grab a taxi, come home, pour yourself a drink and press play.

Enjoy!

Here's the first DJ set of the evening from our 10th Birthday Party at the Big Chill House. We were delighted to be asked to play the gig as part of Mixcloud's monthly residency and had a fantastic time.

Live DJ mixes from the Radio Magnetic 10th Birthday Bash at the Big Chill House in London. Hosted in collaboration with Mixcloud.com.

We were invited by the lovely people at Mixcloud HQ to come down and play at their monthly residency at the Big Chill House, King’s Cross as part of our tenth birthday celebrations. We did just that and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone who came down to enjoy a truly memorable evening of great music and partying. It was a lot of fun.

Here’s the first DJ set of the evening. Station manager, Andy McColgan, who got things started nicely with a spot of reggae and gospel-tinged soul before moving onto more disco-floor territory via a trio of Scottish indie-dance masterpieces. Some obscure tunes, many not so obscure… all seemed to go down well though and got the party started in fine style. There were even some people dancing and it was quite early…

Keep an eye on: radiomagnetic.com/10years for the rest of the sets from the night in the coming days. Davie Kelly, S-Type, Dougal Perman and Mixcloud‘s Nikhil and Nico.

And have a look and check out some of Andy’s irregularly produced and presented, Relative Frequency shows on Radio Magnetic too if you like the sound if this sort of stuff.

Enjoy.
