We are really pleased to announce details of the Walking Heads Edinburgh Comedy Tour. The first ever downloadable audio show at the Edinburgh Fringe launches this Monday.

We’re pleased to announce details of the Walking Heads Edinburgh Comedy Tour. The official Edinburgh Festival Fringe show is the first ever downloadable comedy audio show the Fringe has ever seen and we’re extremely proud of it.

The first Walking Heads audio comedy-show-come-walking-tour guides you around Edinburgh’s famous comedy and historical landmarks and will be available for download to accompany you at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe from Monday 8 August.

The tour features dramatic narration from comedians, Jamie MacDonald and Harry Gooch with anecdotes and tales about Edinburgh, particularly the festival, from revered comedy writers, stand up comedians and broadcasters, Susan Morrison and Bruce Morton. The Edinburgh Comedy Tour will give you a unique, sometimes surreal and entertaining insight into the history surrounding the city’s best known landmarks and haunts and all for just £2.99 (for the smartphone apps or just £2.49 for the MP3 version).

The tour kicks off at the Fringe Shop and Box Office at 180 High Street, Edinburgh and ends at The Stand and it takes 90 minutes to walk and enjoy the tour. The perfect way to spend an hour and a half this summer in festival city we think!

We are also producing an accompanying podcast series, the first episode of which you can download right now from iTunes.

We’ll be producing more Walking Heads audio tours in the coming months too. Next up, a tour of Glasgow’s esteemed music scene and venues, from the 19th century music halls right through to the live music venues and clubs of 2011 via some of the most legendary haunts the city of Glasgow has seen, some still standing, some alive only in the history books.

More news on all of this very soon. And keep an eye out for Episode 2 of the Walking Heads show.

For more details and to buy the tour on Monday visit:

Moon themed classics from Thin Lizzy, Talking Heads and ELO sit awkwardly alongside more unusual recordings from the likes of Elias Rahbani, Tri Atma, Pulp, K Barre, Tiny Tim, Wreckless Eric and, of course, Joey Moon.

At this time of year, rather than bore you with a seasonal or xmas themed selection of music I thought I’d bore you all with this instead. Many moons ago (about a year actually), I had way too much time on my hands, and started the moonshine enduced Wired To The Moon facebook group. The intention was to try and get friends to suggest their favourite videos, songs, pictures and general lunar themed nonsense to create the perfect almoonac of moon tunes. There’s now 200+ moonmbers and nearly 100 moon tunes:

First we take Moonhatten.
Then
We
Take
lin.

Moony thanks to all the lunartics who’ve joined in on the moonsense so far. And now, at long last, I’ve put together a moon-mix of my personal favourites. Surely the Radio Magnetic station moonager has better things to do with his time you would think. You’d probably be right:

These are the words that I moonifest.

Once upon a time there lived a little DJ called Dave Heron. He set off in the woods to find the (self-proclaimed) King of Radio, Harry Gooch. Together they discuss Barry George, Gena G, Gingers and we hear Dave sing.

Harry Gooch and Dave Heron are back with their second topical look at the ills of today’s society. This week it’s Barry George, Gina G and Gingers.

Radio Magnetic’s comedy all stars, the self proclaimed King of Radio Harry Gooch and Dave Heron, take a break from their busy routine to look through the current view from their topical room and spill forth their thoughts. Well, we say busy routine. Apparently Mr Gooch is a chef come kitchen porter and as for Dave, he’s still waiting patiently by his door for the postman to deliver his PHD. Just as well Radio Magnetic is here to keep them out of trouble then.

Episode 2

This week the topics of choice are Barry George and his recent release from jail for the wrongly accused murder of Gill Dando, a brief blast from the past in the unsettling form of Gina G and of course Dave’s increasingly worrying views about Gingers crop up again. Don’t worry Harry, we know every woman secretly wants a swatch of the thatch.
