Jim Gellatly presents more hot tracks from Scotland and beyond…

Jim’s latest musical adventure includes a band with hairstyles that might get them strange looks in Motherwell… a track described as Muse “with classic rock trimmings”… and a song so special Jim’s decided to keep it for himself and not actually tell you what it is! (all that, and he might mention the fact that Jim Gellatly’s New Music has been nominated for an award)

Dougal Perman sequences a selection of upfront new electronic music, beguiling songs and forgotten gems.

The second episode in the summer 2010 series of Magnetism captures the mood of music from around the world, including a Radio Magnetic classic from right back in the early days, from Omar Feruk Tekbelik, via Hefner, plus recent cuts from London’s Last Japan, Roots Manuva and Rodney P guesting on France’s Flore. A Scottish remix of an Italian tune on an Australian label compliments new electronic beats from Scotland alongside a Welsh-Brazilian collaboration. Finally, soothing songs from Iceland give way to enigmatic stories from the USA.
