The Radio Magnetic blog brings you the latest gigs, clubs, festivals and music news from throughout the UK and worldwide. Palace continue their series of collaborative events across Glasgow on Thursday, this time teaming up with Likwit Fusion.

Palace are currently on a hot streak of events across Glasgow, having played host to the likes of Lil B, Brenmar and Falty DL in collaboration with some of the city’s best promoters. This Thursday, Palace are pairing themselves with Likwit Fusion, one of Glasgow’s newest up and coming nights.

Headlining the event is American duo Nguzunguzu whose R’n'B tinged tribal house sounds have been setting dance floors ablaze for the last year and a half. Their Times Up EP was the debut release on Kingdom’s Fade to Mind imprint and this may well be your last chance to catch them in such an intimate setting.

Not much is known about elusive production duo Silk Cut. They have very little internet presence and instead rely on good old fashioned word of mouth to spread word of their music. Their live show is analogue equipment heavy and fuses Glasgow’s DIY ethos with the virtues of experimental dance music.

Support on the night comes from Likwit Fusion’s own Inkke and Shalla Aeons.

Likwit Fusion x Palace: Nguzunguzu & Silk Cut takes place on Thursday 24 May at The Berkley Suite in Glasgow. The event is free before midnight and £4 after.

As one of the UK’s most distinctive rappers, Trim’s musical output has been a bit hit or miss over the years. His distinctive flow and tone was one of the stand out features on the early Roll Deep records and his track Like Me with Becoming Real was one of the most interesting collaborations of 2010. Since then the East London MC has been fairly quiet, save for a couple of intense diss tracks and mediocre singles. 

This latest FACT Magazine giveaway East, is a collaboration with Last Japan and follows hot on the heels of news that  this will be Trim’s last release before signing an exclusive album deal with Rinse.

This Saturday, All Caps Records are taking over the basement at La Cheetah Club in Glasgow to showcase the fine selection of producer and DJ talent the label has to offer.

Headlining the night is hotly tipped Atlanta based beatmaker Helix. The 20 year old producer has been making a lot of noise in the bass music scene over the last couple of months, including his release Drum Track, a white label for Night Slugs featuring the vocal talents of grime heavyweight Flirta D on the flip. His follow up release, the Stacks Riddim EP is due to drop at some point this month on the All Caps label. 
Playing alongside Helix is Alex Coulton, the man responsible for All Caps‘ debut release, the Representations EP. The Manchester based producer has seen his fan base grow considerably this year, with an appearance on the Boiler Room, DJ support from the likes of Mosca, Ben UFO, Jacques Greene and Blawan and releases on Idle Hands, Horizontal Ground and Syndrome Z  under his belt already.

Warm up duties on the night are handed to the All Caps Crew.

The All Caps Records Showcase takes place on Saturday 12 May at La Cheetah Club in Glasgow. Tickets are £5 before midnight and £8 after.

For the last few months Annie Mac has been giving away tracks from the worlds best up and coming and established producers. The latest Free Music Monday give away is this little funked out gem from Swindle and Sam Frank.

This Friday, Palace are teaming up with Mixed Bizness for the third in their series of events and collaborations across Glasgow.

As we mentioned last week, Palace is a new series of collaborative events representing the best electronic music the city has to offer. They kicked things off last weekend with Falty DL and Jon Phonics at Stereo and followed it up on Sunday with a sold out Lil B show at Nice N Sleazy’s.

For the third event, Palace have enlisted the help of veteran club promoter’s Mixed Bizness to bring two headline acts to La Cheetah Club.

Hailing from Austin, Texas, Dubbel Dutch has been making waves in the european dance music scene for some time now, with releases for Unkown To The Unknown, Palms Out Sounds and Mixpak and remixes for the likes of Untold and Nguzunguzu. Expect a versatile selection of anything from UKG, house and techno to Grime, R&B and dancehall.

Originally from Chicago but now based in New York, Brenmar made a name for himself with bootleg remixes of DJ Deeon, Aaliyah and Cassie, not to mention his own productions, including his 2010 club anthem Boy U Got Me.  His love of Hip Hop, juke, R&B and house music shines through in his tracks and makes for a brilliant hour of music.

Support on the night comes from Sega Bodega and Mixed Bizness’ Boom Monk Ben.

This Friday, HYP? are teaming up with Grizzly Records to bring you a mammoth line up of up to the minute UK DJ talent as part of Sub Club’s 25 year celebrations.

Grizzly Records was set up by Graeme Sinden in 2008 as a forum for artist that sit between genres in a musical grey area. The label has put out music from the likes of Brenmar, 5kinandbone5 and Distal as well as the label owners own productions.

Sinden will be headlining on the night alongside three, that’s right – three – of the UK’s hottest up and coming DJ and production talents.

Melé has been making waves in the UK scene for a while now with releases on Sounds of Sumo and Mixpak as well as a forthcoming release with grime legend Kano. Heralded as a DJ to watch 2012 by Timeout magazine, the future is looking pretty bright for the young Liverpudlian.

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, this isn’t Krystal Klear’s first visit to Glasgow, but it is his Sub Club debut. The Hoya Hoya resident has had a string of releases since emerging in 2010 and plays a unique blend of nu-jack swing, house and boogie. Not to be missed.

Finally, we’ve got Glasgow’s S-Type on warm up duties. With a forthcoming EP on LuckyMe and DJ support from the likes of Hudson Mohawke and Rustie, 2012 is going to S-Type’s year.

It all kicks off at 11pm on Friday 27 April at Sub Club in Glasgow. Tickets are £10 and can be purchased in advance from Ticket Scotland.
