To celebrate the release of Alex Smoke’s new album Lux on Monday 12 April here’s a dj mix which incorporates exclusive, unreleased Alex productions alongside new music from Joy Orbison, Ben Klock and classic tracks from Shake and Matthew Dear. This intrepid selection seamlessly glides from deep esoteric house to grinding techno in Smoke’s own inimitable way. It has been almost four years since the release of Alex’s last album Paradolia and in this time he has expanded his studio to incorporate more hardware to fully push the parameters of his sound. Lux is the result of his hard work and delves into more abstract and experimental territory whilst retaining the melancholic musicality and cohesion of its predecessors.
