Taking a look at Ghana’s Independence Day on Wednesday 6 March, Zagueiro is joined by Laurie and Oli from Ghana Soundz who recently spent six weeks along with Julia in Ghana learning traditional music, couch surfing and hunting out tapes, field-recordings and music. Here they share some of the finds from their trip and the stories behind the songs and explain what it is like as a bunch of white folks having an interest in a music that is really underground and dying in the country that is it’s home.
